It’s WIP Wednesday!
Here’s what I’m working on this week:
I cast this on last night. I was visiting my Mom and I didn’t want her to see the afghan I was knitting so I brought a new project to start at her house. These will be Toto the Extremely Useful and Cute Potholder by Kay Gardiner and Ann Shayne. These are a simple knit, very useful, and a cheerful edition to any kitchen. I am knitting them for a friend who sometimes reads this blog, so I can’t say much more at the moment. 🙂
Here’s the current status of the Aran Afghan:
For comparison, here’s what it looked like last week:
I was very happy to see that this afghan DID in fact get bigger. I realized this morning that I have to buy more yarn. I am close to halfway through the yarn I bought, but it will not be long enough if I don’t buy more. It looks like this afghan and I have a lot more work to do.
I still love it, I’m not bored with it or anything. I try to keep my eyes on the prize. I saw my Mom snuggling under the blanket I knit Dad for Christmas last night and I kept relishing in the fact that soon she will have a blanket of her own to keep her warm. 🙂

i can relate to you on the progress of knitting adult-sized blankets! i feel like i’ve been knitting mine for ages, and it’s still not looking anywhere near finished LOL. but we keep on keepin’ on, don’t we 🙂
Yes we do. I always beam with pride when I see one of my finished afghans. 🙂 Which patterns have you used for your adult sized blankets?
love the bright colors!
Your afghan is growing like crazy! And looking beautiful. You’ll have it done in no time. That’s one lucky mom!
Great job on the afghan. it has TOTALLY grown!
Love the pot holder. What fun colors!
THANK YOU Jamie, Paula, and Tami! You are all so kind! Thanks for reading. 🙂
Awesome potholder! The afghan is coming along nicely too.
The Aran Afghan is very impressive. All those cables are a lot of work. Your mother is going to LOVE this blanket.
The stripes on that potholder are just brilliant.
You have made a lot of progress in a week. The afghan is gorgeous. I’m sure your mom is going to be blown away.
Wow! Your afghan is going to be great. You must have some really long circulars there?
Thank you! They’re 60 inch circulars.
